I love working with fabric. I love dyeing it, painting it, marbling it, stamping it, quilting with it, embroidering it… you name it, I’ve probably tried it.
Maybe you love fabric too. Maybe you always browse those hand-dyed silk scarves at craft shows — despite the fact that you never wear scarves. Maybe you can’t see a white shirt without thinking about how you could make it fabulous with a little dye or paint. Maybe you love browsing through sumptuous quilting cottons, and can’t help being tempted by solids as well, because they hold so many possibilities.
“Fabric is dreams,” a woman told me once in a quilt shop, when I was struggling with the temptation to build my stash.
Some time ago I stopped buying my dreams, and instead began creating my own.
